What happens to to clothing that doesn't sell?

The clothing that is donated by the community is cycled into the thrift store on a rotating basis. Each item is given a tag with a color. After a particular color has been on the sales floor for approximately one month. The items are then pulled from the racks into shopping carts and sent out to our baler. Our clients and staff operate this baler (Big Green) and make giant bails of clothing. The bales of clothing are then shipped to the commodities market. Where they are ground up and recycled or shipped to third world countries.

*We also use the baler to bale our confidential shred and old cardboard boxes that are then recycled.
